Rigger, Slinger & Banks Man Course

The Rigger, Slinger & Banksman Course is designed to train individuals in the safe and efficient handling of loads during lifting operations. This course covers the roles and responsibilities of each member of the lifting team:

• Rigger: Responsible for planning and executing the lifting operation, selecting appropriate rigging gear, and ensuring the safe assembly and disassembly of lifting equipment.
• Slinger: Responsible for attaching the load to the lifting equipment (e.g., slings, chains, hooks) and ensuring the load is balanced and secure.
• Banksman: Responsible for guiding the crane operator during the lift, ensuring the load clears obstructions, and maintaining a safe working area.

Key Objectives:

• Understand the principles of safe lifting operations: Learn about the hazards associated with lifting operations, including load instability, overloading, and equipment failure.
• Develop knowledge of rigging equipment and techniques: Learn about different types of lifting equipment (cranes, hoists, winches), slings, shackles, and other rigging gear.
